BRIEF HISTORY
Inception of an association by Dr. Ajay Kothari.

I went in search of a hall in a hotel that could accommodate 250 persons. There were no five star hotels as we have today. I ultimately landed at Hotel Ajanta Palace at Juhu, booked the hall and the task began.

I felt that we have associations catering to the academic knowledge of each speciality but we should have a forum where we could discuss our paramedical and social problems having indirect bearing on our career and practice. We all grumbled but I felt that even grumbling should. be organised and crystallised.
In 1971 we had not many consultants either staying or practicing between Bandra and Virar. I convinced few friends of this idea and a small committee comprising Drs. Anupam Desai, Pawar, M.L. Singhi, Belvi, Bhargav, N.B. Shah, Paritosh Cholia and Swadia was formed. We contacted 240 consultants personally and percolated the concept of the common forum. They agreed more out of curiosity than need. We received 100 % registration and the 1st Consultants' "
Conference was organised on Sunday 7th March 1971. Dr. Suresh Sheth was the Chairman of the conference, enthusiastically helped by Drs. C.L. Zaveri and Shantilal Shah.
