The Association of Medical Consultants was founded in 1972, and initially got together Consultants practising in the western suburbs only. Over the years,the immense need rose for an organisation of this nature and the Association grew rapidly in numerical strength involving Consultants from all over Greater Mumbai, Navi Mumbai & Thane district.Today AMC is the largest organisation of this nature having over 5000 consultant doctors of all specialties as its members. It is recognized as a frontline medical organization and an important opinion -making body, which addresses vital public health and professional issues facing the - in general and medical consultants in particular..
Whilst academic aspects are effectively dealt with by the respective Specialty associations, the AMC brings together consultants of various discipline on one platform and aims to highlight and offer solutions to the all important, day-to-day problems faced by consultants. Who can deny the fact that these problems are growing day by day in variety and enormity ? |
